I have the privilege of serving in a social justice internship led by Christian community this summer in Louisville Kentucky!
About Justice Smith-
I am so excited to tell you about my plans for this summer!
I will be serving as a short-term urban missionary with Love Thy Neighborhood, a ministry that recruits people like me to work together to serve and love people that are hurting in the inner-city of Louisville, Kentucky.
As I approach the last several semesters of my college career studying multimedia journalism & leadership and social change at Virginia Tech - I have been thinking and praying more than ever about what the Lord is calling me to do with my life. And while I wish I could tell you that I have finally come to the realization of exactly what it is, that is not the case. However, as I have become increasingly involved in my church in Blacksburg VA (s/o to BUMC edges), I have found myself time and time again meeting with friends over coffee talking about a potential future in ministry.
If there is one thing that I know for certain, it is that I have always had a heart for people - especially those who do not have a voice. I am stoked to be utilizing my multimedia journalism skills that I have honed while at Virginia Tech through partnering with Love Thy Neighborhood's podcasting track (check them out: http://lovethyneighborhood.org/podcast/).
Still, I can't do this without YOU.
I am confident that the Lord is calling me to continue fighting for social justice and loving people, only this summer in Louisville KY and by giving them a voice through multimedia podcasting - and I need your help. I humbly and gratefully ask that you would consider supporting me financially and through prayer.
My goal is $2,700 which will cover everything during my 3 month internship. I realize that this is much more than a college kid can bite off on his own, so if you have made it this far into this post I truly believe that the Lord may be calling you to consider partnering with me on this journey through supporting me financially in whatever it is He plans on doing through me in Louisville this summer.
Thank you in advance for your support and I look forward to keeping all of you updated throughout my journey this summer through a weekly email newsletters as my serving time nears.
This will change both of us - I am sure of it,
