Through my internship with Love Thy Neighborhood, I am making an impact on the lost and hurting world through the power of the Gospel.
About Kasady Liu
I’m excited to let you know that I will be participating in a summer internship
with Love Thy Neighborhood, a ministry that recruits people like me to work together
to serve and love people who are hurting in the inner-city. I am going to be living and
serving with other Christian young adults in Louisville, KY. Together with a local
church, we’re committed to impacting our neighbor’s lives with the gospel of Jesus
Growing up in Irvine, I have always felt blinded to the realities of impoverished
populations and injustices that are present right here in the USA. I feel that God is
providing me with this opportunity to broaden my horizons and help me witness God’s
heart for justice and the poor. I want to take this opportunity to step out of my comfort
zone, form cross-cultural connections, and serve people who are different from me.
With my passions for ministry and music, I am excited to experience how those two
passions might come together in one position.
I will be serving on the worship track with Sojourn Music. Sojourn Music is
dedicated to providing the church with multi-cultural and multi-lingual worship with
multiple worship genres. I love the multiethnic aspect of worship because I believe that
it reveals a fuller picture of God’s character and His kingdom. God created different
ethnicities and cultures and singing multiethnic worship songs honors His creation. By
serving with Love Thy Neighborhood, I will be able to put that into practice. It will be
challenging, exhausting, but most importantly, this summer will be full of growth and
joy, and I look forward to sharing with you.
I invite you to get involved through prayer and funding! As a Love Thy
Neighborhood Team Member, my goal is to fundraise $3,000 to cover the cost of
housing, groceries, transportation, training, curriculum, etc. Anything you can
contribute is greatly appreciated and make this internship possible! I would also love if
you could pray for open minds and hearts as I travel to Louisville. Please pray that God
will break my heart for what breaks His, and that I and others will feel his presence and
love this summer. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate
any help and support you are willing to provide!
