About Mary Grace Donaldson

I am a sophomore at Covenant College studying Sociology, Community Development, and Linguistics. This summer, I am so excited to be working in Louisville, KY, with Love Thy Neighborhood, a Christian nonprofit devoted to revitalizing many areas in the Louisville community through sharing the gospel.

Through interning with Love Thy Neighborhood in the Homelessness track, I will be working with the Louisville Rescue Mission for at least 30 hours every week. I will live with other LTN interns and form close community both in the Rescue Mission and among my fellow interns. This eleven-week internship lasts from May 29 until August 8, and I expect that this experience will greatly challenge me in how I relate to people with different struggles than me and also strengthen my relationship with the Lord.

I am going as a missionary because I want to learn how to make a difference in the lives of people in some of the toughest living conditions and toughest neighborhoods in the world. The forces of mental illness, drugs, crime, violence and poverty are very real in the city. I want to help make Christ just as real in the city. I also want to deepen my own relationships with God and become a more effective Christian servant.

As a Love Thy Neighborhood Team Member, my goal is to raise $2,700 for the year ($900/month) to cover the cost of living, eating transportation, training, newsletter supplies, etc. Anything you can commit will bring me closer to that goal and make my mission possible. If you can help financially feel free to donate on the right hand side of the page.

If you cannot help financially, but will pray for me during my preparation for the summer and during the summer, or if you want to receive monthly newsletter updates from me, let me know that as well. Thank you for the part you have played in my life up to this point.

I hope you will join me in this great adventure for the Lord.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
